About Grown & Growing

Welcome to the Grown and Growing Podcast — your favorite podcast for women who know that life in your 40s (and beyond) is just getting started! Sonia started this platform with the vision of creating a space where women could embrace the unique challenges and joys that come with navigating midlife and beyond. It's a place where no topic is off-limits — relationships, health, career, sex, kids, travel, and everything in between.

Join Sonia and Roberta as they dive into candid conversations, share laughs, and empower you to own every part of your journey. Grown and Growing is more than just a podcast — it’s your reminder that you’re never too grown to keep growing. Tune in and feel like you’re chatting with your best girlfriends!

Meet the Hosts

Recently, Sonia pivoted the podcast to include her longtime friend of 20 years, Roberta, and their chemistry adds an extra layer of richness to each episode. With their distinct, vibrant lives, the duo offers fresh perspectives on what it means to evolve as women in this stage of life. Sonia and Roberta are unapologetically themselves — two Black women who bring authenticity, humor, and deep conversation to the forefront, showing listeners that growth never stops.

  • Born and raised in CLE, Sonia is a mom, wife, professional and so much more.  She is a graduate of Morgan State University and Virginia Commonwealth University, and has a 20+ year career working in corporate. Sonia loves learning, travel, great storytelling (books, movies and TV shows), and engaging conversations. As a woman in her mid-40s, life sends constant reminders that she's grown, but her  challenge is to never lose the capacity and desire to grow.

  • Born and raised in the 757, Roberta is a graduate of The College of William & Mary and Virginia Commonwealth University. With a long career in marketing, Roberta recently became an entrepreneur, co-owning a wine & home decor business. She loves to travel abroad. She’s a free-spirited, outdoorsy only child with no children and the yang to Sonia’s yin.

Grown, but always growing.

I found myself wanting to take notes to allow myself some time for reflection later. I was cooking, but next time, I plan to be prepared.
